Island 50 playlist

The 50 songs I'd want with me while stranded on a deserted island with no Internet.

Just updated the playlist for 2021. These aren't necessarily my 50 favorite songs. Or even a coherent and well crafted playlist. Just 50 songs I know I'd wish I could listen to if I had nothing to listen to. New on the list this time :

Rival Sons - Wild Animal
The Parlor Mob - Into The Sun
The Muggs - Never Know Why

I've always been a sucker for guitar driven, garage-y, hooks-for-days rock. And I discovered these bands over the last few years. The Muggs in particular are in many of my playlists. The later work doesn't hold up as well, but some of the early stuff is flat out brilliant. It's wild and raw but still feels crafted down to the last note. Somehow. Big fan.

K/DA - Pop/Stars
Babymetal - The One

Even I'm rather confused by my foray into K-pop and J-pop. You can blame Marilee. She sent me this video, which was sort of like the curtains opening on a new universe for me. And that led me down the rabbit hole into the oddly specific sub-sub-genre of LoL gaming/marketing songs. Which led me to Wagakki Band. Which led me to Babymetal. So.... yeah..... Marilee's fault.

Jethro Tull - Cup Of Wonder
Live - Lightning Crashes
