<<<<< previous blog next blog >>>>>I have too much homemade bread. I'm sure if we were to list all the world's problems for Feb 2020 that would be pretty low. But really, my life has gotten over-carbed.
December was the quest for the best homemade pizza. January was the quest for photogenic artisan bread. And while that's been delicious, it's also been bad for my waistline. So let's embrace a new house rule that one loaf of bread at a time is more than enough.
And after getting a couple non-awful bread photos, maybe it's time to move on to other subjects. Baking the the most beautiful loaf of sourdough honestly isn't a skill I'll ever need. Especially since I otherwise don't even eat bread all that often. So in this case "good enough" is really good enough.
However, it has been nice to finally learn how to make proper bread. You would think at 56, with a passion for cooking, I'd have learned that by now. But no. It has me thinking about baking other stuff. I love "everything" bagels, so maybe some of those? Or cupcakes. Those are photogenic. Soft pretzels maybe? Perhaps finally learn to make my own pasta.
No!!! It must stop!!!
I need to switch to a better diet. Something with veggies and fiber and meat. Although..... a whole wheat pizza could fit that description.
No!!! No more pizza!
