Wear a mask

Bottomline, it may save someone's life. Even if it's inconvenient or uncomfortable, it will still save lives.

Southern California is up to 5000 new covid-19 cases a day. With a 1% death rate that's 50 people dying a day. And with about 20% of people getting the virus needing hospital care, that's 1000 new people in the hospital every day. And the numbers are going up, not down. And of course lots of people get it, and can pass it, but have no symptoms.

I know plenty of you think it's all a lie. That the numbers are fake. That no one is really sick beyond what you'd normally have. What if you are wrong? What if the scientists and studies are right? If even one of them is right, you are wrong.

I know lots of people feel wearing a mask is a pain, or ugly, or impossible. But what easier ways do you have to save the lives of others? How will you feel if it turns out you have it and passed it to others who die? This isn't a crazy question. It's literally how all those numbers I quoted above are happening.

Please wear a mask. It's the right thing to do. Saying "you can't make me" or complaining about it being stupid is not how adults act. It's how children act. It's not political. It's helping the people around you not die. It's helping the economy get back to normal. It's a good way to let the rest of the world not think Americans are filthy and childish.

I would like to go to Belgium in a few months. Right now I literally can't because Americans won't wear masks. And they won't let Americans in. So....... If I'm curt with you it's because time is a factor. I think fast, I talk fast and I need you guys to act fast if you wanna get out of this. So, pretty please..... with sugar on top. Wear the fucking mask.
