Buy prints

Even though I've added a "buy prints" link, I don't expect people to buy prints.

I'm not doing this blog as a side gig or business. I make good money as a programmer, and the idea of being a professional photographer doesn't appeal to me. This space is just so that I have a way to talk to the world with a platform I own. So no Google discontinuing things, no Facebook mangling my posts, no pressure to make things "advertiser friendly". Just me with a megaphone in the town square.

But people will continue saying I'm crazy to NOT sell prints until I do. And maybe someone actually wants one. And webhosting isn't free, so why not.

Either way I'll be happy.

Rest assured all monies collected will irresponsibly used to buy fancy overpriced burgers and beer.

And I'm not even sure why I feel the need to apologize for adding a "buy prints" link. If I'm honest, it would be great if lots of people bought them and because of that I could travel more in retirement. Or just retire with less stress over whether I have enough saved. Sure, that would be awesome.

But I do sort of feel weird about it. For me photography is just a hobby. Making money from prints changes it. Will I start composing photos differently so they'll sell more? Will I stress over things like model releases? Will I have to form a business entity? What about taxes? Customer service? Will I need to add a phone number people can call?

See? Just adding that link causes this cascade of things to stress over.

So..... I hope you get the point here. Please don't buy prints or my life is ruined.

Buy prints
